In Fantasy Classic (Coming Soon) the mystery of Undeath allows the caster to create and control undead entities, or to assume aspects of undeath themselves.

At lower tiers, this manifests as the animation of simple corpses or skeletal remains. These entities are limited in capability and require ongoing control or duration to persist.

At higher tiers, Undeath allows the creation of more capable undead, sustained independently of constant control, or the transformation of the caster or target into an undead state. This may grant resilience to damage, immunity to certain conditions, and altered interaction with healing and harm.

Undead creatures are sustained by negative energy. They are healed by Negative effects and harmed by Positive effects, as defined in Evocation.

Control of undead is inherent to their creation. Unless otherwise specified, undead created by the caster act under their direction. More powerful undead may resist or require sustained control depending on the tier of the effect.

In Fantasy Classic (Coming Soon), the Divine, as a source of magic, is power derived not from impersonal arcane forces or the manipulation of natural laws, but from conscious, transcendent entities or cosmic principles that exist beyond the material plane.
It is magic mediated through relationship—faith, devotion, covenant, oath, or spiritual alignment—rather than technical study or innate talent. Where arcane magic is often described as formulaic and mechanical in its operation, divine magic is relational and intentional, granted or channelled through a higher will.
Mortals implore their worshipped god to empower them powers from their domains.

In Fantasy Classic (Coming Soon), Sorcery, as a source of magic, is power drawn directly from the raw and untamed energies that permeate the fabric of existence. Unlike arcane magic, which relies on structured study, precise incantations, and carefully constructed formulae, sorcery is instinctive and immediate. It does not arise from disciplined scholarship nor from divine favour, but from an innate connection to primal forces that exist beneath the ordered layers of reality. Where the arcane practitioner studies and calculates, the sorcerer channels and releases.
In many traditions this power is believed to originate from unusual bloodlines, ancient magical exposure, or the lingering influence of elemental or otherworldly forces within a mortal’s essence. Sorcerers do not shape magic through learned diagrams or ritual geometry; instead, they call it forth through will, emotion, and instinct. The energy they wield is potent but volatile, responding as much to the caster’s inner state as to deliberate intent.
As a result, sorcery is demanding on the casters physical and mental state, as well as the normal spell challenge roll to activate the spell, they must make a Recovery challenge against the spells dice or suffer the Fatigued condition, a critical failure will result in suffering the Exhausted condition.
Such is the nature of Sorcery they may only cast spells from the evocation school, limited further to just one Prime element (fire, water, air, or earth).

In Fantasy Classic (Coming Soon) Nature Magic, as a source of power, is drawn from the living world itself—the vast, interconnected web of forests, rivers, winds, beasts, and growing things that sustain life across the land. Unlike arcane magic, which manipulates the hidden mechanics of reality, or divine magic, which is granted by distant gods, nature magic flows from the balance and vitality of the natural world. It is not forced into existence through formula nor granted through worship, but invoked through harmony with the rhythms of the earth.
Practitioners of nature magic learn to listen to the quiet language of the wild: the turning of seasons, the growth of roots beneath the soil, the instincts of animals, and the slow patience of stone and tree. By aligning themselves with these natural forces, they are able to call upon the strength of the land to heal wounds, command plants, calm beasts, and unleash the fierce power of storms and wilderness when necessary.

In Fantasy Classic Arcane magic is power drawn from the hidden structure of reality itself. Unlike divine miracles, which are granted by higher beings, or primal magic, which flows through the living world, arcane power is accessed through applied knowledge, practiced discipline, and precise manipulation of mystical forces. Practitioners study ancient formulae, symbols, and incantations that shape raw magical energy into controlled effects. To the arcane caster, a spell is not a prayer or instinctive act but a carefully constructed pattern—words, gestures, and mental focus aligned to bend the underlying fabric of the world.

Planned for release in conjunction with the Fantasy Classic Core Rulebook is Into the Mountain of Garang, the first published adventure module for the Fantasy Classic system.

Designed as an introductory adventure for 4–6 characters at Starter Level.

The Mountain of Garang rises from a bleak and wind-scoured marshland, its jagged basalt slopes crowned by a fortress whose inner fires stain the night sky crimson. Once the domain of a powerful sorcerer whose experiments warped both land and creature alike, the mountain has long stood abandoned—until now. Strange lights burn again within its towers, and travelers whisper that something ancient has awakened beneath the stone.

Into the Mountain of Garang introduces players to the core mechanics of Fantasy Classic through a tightly constructed exploration adventure of dungeon delving, and dangerous encounters. Within the mountain lie forgotten halls, hidden chambers, lethal traps, monstrous guardians, and relics of a vanished age. Whether the party enters seeking glory, knowledge, or gold, one truth quickly becomes clear: the darkness within Garang has not slept peacefully.
